CANADIAN EXPERIENCE CLASS

A foreign national is said to qualify as the member of this class if one has:

Work Experience:

Minimum 1 year of full-time or equivalent part time work experience in the occupation of skill type 0 or at skill level A or B as classified in National Occupation Classification version 2016, in the 3 years before application.

This work experience must have been obtained on a legal work permit and for students, it should be after they have graduated from their studies.

He/she must have performed all essential duties and substantial amount of main duties, stated in NOC of his/her occupation’s lead statement.

The work hours allowed to a student during their studies, work experience of self – employed, work experience acquired under co-op/internship or work does not count for this category.

In case of work experience in Quebec, it will count but the foreign national cannot intend to reside in province of Quebec. For residing in Quebec, there are different immigration programs specific to the province.

Language Proficiency:

A foreign national prove his/her proficiency in either English or French language through approved tests.

There are different requirements for different skill level. When work experience is in skill type 0 or skill level A, it should be CLB 7(Canadian Language Benchmark) and if the work experience claimed for this class is of skill level B, the CLB 5 is the minimum requirement.

There are no Educational requirements but if you have Canadian or foreign obtained Canadian equivalent (with a valid Educational Credential Assessment), secondary or post-secondary education, one can receive a higher rank in Comprehensive Ranking System.

Here, the foreign national does not need to prove settlement funds and applicant can be outside Canada while applying under this economic immigration stream.
